The circular economy can fight climate change

Finland wants to lead the way in the transition to a fair and competitive carbon-neutral circular economy. That’s why the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra formed The World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF), where the world’s best circular economy solutions are presented every year.

The idea of a circular economy means a society where people’s everyday lives and well-being are no longer based on consumption and the use of fossil fuels. By adopting circular solutions, society can fight climate change and the environmental crisis. Circular economy is also one of the main drivers in achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. A key WCEF idea is the best solutions are born when business and the environment go hand in hand. That’s why, every year, WCEF brings together over 4,000 business leaders, policymakers and experts worldwide. Together, they work to create new opportunities through circular economy solutions.
