Infinited Fiber Company regenerates high-quality textile fibres from textile waste.
Nothing new needs to be grown when we use what’s already been made. That’s the philosophy that underlines Infinited Company, which can turn textile waste into high-quality textile fibres that look and feel like new.
It is estimated that a truckload of textile waste is thrown away or burned every second, wasting valuable resources. At the same time the demand for sustainable, bio-based materials is increasing as problems related to the production of conventional textiles grow.
For Infinited Fiber Company, textile waste is not a problem but a valuable raw material that can be turned into high-quality fibres. The company has developed a technology which can turn any cellulose-rich waste – such as old clothes, used cardboard and wheat straw – into new fibres. These fibres can be used for clothing, bedsheets or even baby wipes.
In addition to offering a solution for eliminating multiple waste streams, the technology uses only a fraction of the water needed to grow conventional cotton. Furthermore, the fibres are biodegradable and contain no microplastics.
Global fashion brands have endorsed Infinited Company’s technology. The first garments made with this type of fibre went on sale in 2021. Large-scale production is expected to begin in late 2023.
